Your at-home checklist!
- Check For Leaks: Frequently check for any visible leaks in the system. Leaking water or gas can be dangerous.
- Monitor Pressure: Check the pressure gauge on the front. It can be a sign of a problem if it’s continuously too high, too low or inconsistent
- Radiator Bleeding: If you feel cold spots on your radiators, it’s time to bleed them. Releasing trapped air, maintains the effectiveness of your heating system.
- Strange Sounds: Whistling, banging or knocking may indicate internal issues with your boiler.
- Flue & Ventilation: If possible, check outside to see if they are blocked. Blocked vents may cause a carbon monoxide build up.
- Thermostat: Make sure the thermostat is working properly. Installing a programmable thermostat will offer more precise control & energy savings
- Annual Service: You should have your boiler serviced annually by a Gas Safe registered engineer. They will conduct a full exam, clean, and make any necessary adjustments.
